Boost Your Mood and Confidence: Get Expert Help for Depression

It’s not a popular topic to talk about but it is important that we talk about – your depression.

It has been going on for way too long! The long restless nights, the lack of motivation to do the things you know you have to do to survive, the endless day dreaming of how things could be better “if only…” something new would happen in your life.

It can almost feel like it doesn’t go away. Sure, every now and again there is a good stretch of stability and distraction from those melancholy symptoms, but more time than not it just ends up being the same patterns of resentment that come from seeing others so happy in their little worlds. You try to keep on a friendly face and tell everybody that “things are fine”, but deep down you just want to scream at them for not having to deal with negativity that you have come to know in life.

Productivity at work is beginning to become an issue, you rarely see your friends, the world just seems heavier and less interesting with every same monotonous day that passes and then the thoughts begins to take shape: “sometimes I wish that I was just dead.”

It can be a difficult conversation to have, but human beings are constantly making the decision to survive in this world and depression can disrupt someone’s choice to live. The good news is that depression is extremely treatable and I’m here to help you change those negative outlooks into opportunities to grow and thrive.

Depression is a Disease and I am Here to Help!

Experiencing a crises and need immediate assistance dial ‘988’…

How many times has someone told you to “just be happy?” like it was no big deal – leaving you to want to punch that person in the face to give them a dose to the suffering that can come from reality?

Now, of course, I’m not advocating for any sort of violence but depression can be a complex and very systematic disease that infects your attitudes with yourself and the world around you.

Depression can start off as a general low feeling, but if left untreated can quickly manifest into a disease that not only impacts your identity but also the relationships and competencies needed to navigate a fruitful life. Things like vocational burnout, peer abandonment, addictions, financial troubles can quickly become second nature to your depression if not effectively treated.

The last time I checked – they’re aren’t a lot of “happy go lucky people” readily available to openly discuss the negative depths of your self esteem or even the suicidal thoughts that can pop up every now and again when you feel like giving up.

That is why you need a trained professional and a trusted therapist to help you make sense of the dark depths to your psyche.

My Story is About Giving You Something More Valuable than Just Talk Therapy

Let’s face it, in today’s day and age, it’s all about trust, accessibility and availability when it comes to treating the modern mind.

You need a trusted professional who is going to ask you the right questions while creating a safe environment that can help you explore and make the different decisions that can lead to a better life.

You need accessibility and the ability to openly communicate with your therapist in between sessions to get the support and guidance you need to get you through those sudden lows.

You need a professional who can make themselves available and spend those critical moments with you that can give you the encouragement you need to break that suffering cycle of depression.

Sometimes it Takes the Right Nudge at The Right Time…

Did you know most therapeutic breakthroughs come in between sessions, not during your sessions?

It’s very true, although therapy might be the place where you are collecting new ideas and new perspectives about life – most acts of change happen in those critical moments between sessions that put your therapeutic education to the test.  And I want to make myself available for when that happens!

As part of my practice I think it is important to offer a resource that allows you to connect with your therapist in between sessions.  Imagine for one moment that you’re still 4 days away from your next appointment and you just had one of the roughest nights tossing and turning in bed, feeling restless and anxious about an argument you just had with your spouse. The next morning you find yourself preoccupied with the angry thought that nothing matters with nobody to talk to that could help give you that release by getting it off your chest. What do you do?

When you work with me, no longer do you have to wait until your next scheduled session to discuss that important thing that is on your mind and risk internalizing the significance of the moment because your next appointment is still 4 days away.

As my client you will have the benefit of having your own private therapy app that you can utilize to directly communicate with me between our sessions and enjoy the added features of weekly motivational videos, mental health tips and tools, video replies, community resources and other personalized lessons that could be specific to your case.

My Process , Your Narrative

Consultation and Intake

First impressions are important. After you make your first appointment I’ll give you a call to conduct a quick 15 minute consultation to explore a little further your goals for therapy and answer any questions you might have about the process moving forward.

Structured Sessions with App Support

I strongly believe that therapy shouldn’t be permanent thing and if you’re seeing a therapist for more than a year — then at what point does it stop being therapy.? I generally aim to structure our professional relationship to no more than 10 weekly sessions in order to keep us both accountable for the change that needs to take place and to help you save time and money from your most important investment -- your mental health.

Graduation

It’s inevitable that there will be some point where we will have to say our “farewells” to one another. Our sessions will focus with the end in sight and once we hit your treatment goals it will be important to take that momentum and trust yourself to get back into your own life to keep that momentum of growth.

Get Back To Living

Life happens in an open world arena and you are in charge of the adventures that shape your life. Through my own personalized app you can stay up to date with helpful tips and mental health tools with periodical check ins from me to follow up about all the new changes taking shape in your own adventure.

Create A Inspiring Story

Have you ever heard the saying, “that with every broken heart brings forth the hero standing behind it?”

If you really think about it most major accomplishments that come from this world are born through the pain and suffering that inevitably happens before the dawn of motivation that takes a victim and turns them into a hero within their own life story.

Which begs another question: What are you missing from the experience of your depression?

Is there wisdom underneath all those lethargic mornings; the pain that comes from unfulfillment; The suffering from excess isolation;  or the fear that comes with having no purpose?

Or maybe – there is a current of new motivations, new values, new aspirations, new crazy thoughts that need to be uncovered and nurtured in such a way that allows you to start breaking the rules around your depression and reconstruct your life to satisfaction.

Allow Me To be Your Sidekick – You Can Go Dressed as Batman and I’ll Go Dressed as Robin!

My mission is to not prevent your depression or make you feel better – only you can make decisions about how you feel, my mission is to be your trusted companion as we enter the caves of your melancholy and the vast swamps of indifference and confront the psychological monsters that stand guard to the trail of your happiness and joy.

I provide a professional style of therapy that has a clear objective in mind to help you make better decisions about your mood and the choices that are shaped through our attitudes and beliefs.

If you want to talk about how your best friend lost his virginity to a Tijuana hooker when you both were in high school all those years ago (sorry, Jacob I couldn’t resist!) let’s go there and maybe we might find some humility or perhaps a decision or two that you made about yourself (like don’t mess around with prostitutes) that could be useful in elaborating on in the present moment (like don't mess around with other negative and toxic people?) The point is therapy should be the place where nothing is left ignored or unturned.

The Hardest Part Is Always Getting Things Started…

If you are truly depressed you are probably reading this and telling yourself, “I don't know about all this” or maybe even telling yourself that, “therapy won't help, I can deal with this on my own.”  And if that is the case, then I say, you are in the right place!

Allow me to share with you the benefits of being able to talk to a neutral third party – a professional with over 10 years experience that won’t judge you and truly listen to that part of you that you keep hidden from your friends and family.  An agent of change that will ask you the right questions designed to get you back in touch with your self esteem and self confidence that have been arrested by your depression and suffering with life.  Or at the very least, a simple companion that is waiting to just talk and share a few funny stories and some ideas that might give you a fresh perspective on life.

Depression can be expensive, not only through the money that can be lost because of a lack of performance, but it can be expensive because it can take away from your most precious resource – your time.  The time that could be used for learning new things, creating bigger goals, experiencing different environments, basking in celebration, sharing a laugh with a trusted partner, standing up for something you truly believe in, or even reflecting on the vast potentials of human existence.
